Get More Done in Less Time
As a young professional, I had a never-ending to do list that just kept growing. I dreaded looking at my inbox on Monday, knowing that it would add another 20 things to my list. I was incredibly busy, but felt I wasn’t accomplishing much. Sound familiar?
I learned how to gain control over my time. It’s not magic – it’s a matter of intention and prioritization. In this session, I teach how to reduce overwhelm, how to focus on what really matters, and how to get more done in less time so you can win at work and at life.
Imposter Syndrome: Stop Faking It
There is not a human being that has not felt Imposter Syndrome. Even Michelle Obama famously wrote about personal experiences with it.
In the first several years of my career, there was a nagging voice in my head that repeatedly said, “I wonder if this is the day they figure out that I’m not that good at my job.” Imposter syndrome caused me to doubt my abilities, my decisions, and even my feelings. Then I had an eye-opening conversation with a leader I looked up to who gave me some words of wisdom I’ll never forget – “Mistakes make us better.”
In this talk, I get real about Imposter Syndrome – that feeling that you don’t quite fit in and maybe you’re not as good as other people think you are. I will help you get in a better mindset, live more authentically, and recognize the depth and breadth of your talents. You’ll gain confidence and get rid of that nagging little voice that does not serve you.
Setting Healthy and Appropriate Boundaries
Do you get a sense of dread when you see a colleague, friend or family member’s name pop up on your phone because you know they are going to ask you to do something you don’t want to do, and yet … you say yes? I feel your pain. After years of saying “yes” to almost any request in my personal and professional life, I realized that I was miserable making everyone else happy. I took control by learning how to set and keep healthy and appropriate boundaries.
In this talk, you will learn how to say no in a clear and respectful way so you can focus on what serves you at work and at home.
Critical Conversations
When I first started managing people, I avoided uncomfortable conversations around my team’s poor job performance and bad behavior in the workplace. I put those conversations off for as long as I possibly could, until I realized that was making the situation ten times worse.
After years of experimentation, I found how to have those conversations in a way that felt natural and easy, and that made everyone feel better.
In this talk, I will share the lessons I learned about how and when to have those critical conversations, so you and your team feel heard and seen and your working environment improves.
